The Malayalee Association of Quebec was registered in 1977 as a non-profit
organization with the objective of bringing the community together in maintaining the
linguistic and cultural heritage of the homeland.  

The Association organizes two major events every year.  One is the Onam celebration (a harvest festival) in September and the other is an annual celebration in May.  Both consists of cultural programs and feast.  The Association organizes at least one community picnic every summer. Besides, it also sponsors programs and New Year celebrations.  Members of other communities also participate in all the events
organized by the Association.  This is a very delightful experience for the community.

We’re hoping to raise funds to keep cost of community events low for association
members, especially new settlers, and international students. Would you consider donating to
help sponsor our events and community activities which include supporting members of our
communities with medical and financial relief in dire needs. About 500 members participate in
our Onam celebrations every year and recent survey suggests that there are over 5000
residents in Montreal from the Malayalee community.
